The Writing Sprint is designed for Early-Career Researchers (ECRs) from South-East Asian universities, working in the field of Education.  The Writing Sprint is an international writing development and networking event organised by Coventry University in partnership with the Philippine Normal University and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.

Coventry University’s Centre for Global Learning designed a series of virtual workshops and consultations (a Capacity-Building Sprint) aimed to accelerate the progress and productivity of ECRs from the South-East Asia region with their writing-for-publication outputs and funding bids.

A series of call for participants was made from June to September 2021. The program was opened to any PhD holder who has passed their viva voce exam not more than 5 years from the application deadline who is currently in a full-time academic post at a university in a South-East Asian country, and who works in the field of Education.

The delivery of the program is in two phases:

Phase 1 – Online writing workshops and consultations

Phase 2- Follow-up mentor and peer support, with a closing virtual conference

The Writing Sprint program is funded through the British Academy’s Writing Workshops 2021 Programme, supported under the Global Challenges Research Fund.
