Dr Dimitar Angelov

Dr Angelov is a highly-qualified specialist in research writing and writing for publication with a wide-ranging experience in staff development in the UK higher education sector. As an Assistant Professor at Coventry University (CU), he has led on the institution’s researcher development provision by conceptualising innovative training interventions, such as credit-bearing modules in Writing for Publication, Scholarly Writing Retreats, workshop series and supervised writing sessions, targeted at Early-,  Mid-Career and Senior Researchers. Dr Angelov has raised CU’s national and international profile by engaging in research writing consultancy at the German Development Institute (Germany), Birmingham City University (UK), the Education University of Hong Kong (China), University of Connecticut and Cornell University (USA), Middle East College (Oman).


Prof Lynn Clouder

Prof Clouder is an accomplished education-focused researcher and writer of single-authored and collaborative articles in good quality peer-reviewed journals, and of books, book chapters and grant applications. Her recent completion of the Chartered Management Institute Coaching and Mentorship programme has informed doctoral supervision and mentorship of early career researchers. Prof Clouder has introduced a rigorous peer review process into her own centre with the aim of enhancing the quality of articles submitted and accepted for publication. She has delivered several sessions for the National Association of Educators in Practice on converting conference presentations into articles for publication and has run ‘writing for publication’ workshops for the Higher Education Academy and the University of Nottingham. Prof Clouder is Editor in Chief for a relatively new open access journal and regularly reviews for a range of other education journals. 


Dr Virginia King , BA (Hons), PhD, FHEA 

With a background in commercial IT, Computer Science, English and Linguistics, Virginia brings diverse skills and experience to her current Education research role. She began working with the Research Centre for Global Learning (GLEA) in 2018, where her cross-cultural and inter-disciplinary work combines research originality, significance, and rigour. Her research illuminates academic practice through autoethnography and the novel use of theory and methodologies. As a peer reviewer for Studies in Higher Education, Higher Education Research & Development and other leading journals, she specialises in qualitative studies of the staff and student experience.


Miss Susie Maugham 

Susie Maugham is an experienced research support professional, she has worked in the Higher Education sector for over ten years and has supported the submission of hundreds of research funding applications.  Currently, she is a Research Funding and Development Manager at Coventry University working closely with academics to develop and submit funding applications to a range of funders.  Prior to working for Coventry University, Susie worked in the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit based in Vietnam.  Susie has delivered an extensive range of training programmes for academic staff, at all career stages. She has secured funding for, developed and delivered training courses in Malaysia and Vietnam.
